Big Red Ones
I don't think I'm alone here.
I love tomatoes.
Red ones, squishy ones, juicy ones, ripe ones, big ones, little ones, off the vine or sundried.
In sauces, in V8, in tiny baby form and eaten like an apple straight out of the fridge.
It's not that crazy. It's not that weird. I do think I can explain why the majority of Scottish people I've met simply aren't hip to the idea of sucking back on a juicy red tomato. Produce here is all imported. Okay, fair enough at home they are imported during this season too.
But they are imported usually from a drive that takes less than 24 hours. No plane rides required.
Tomatoes I've seen in Scotland are complex. They can literally sit in your fridge for over a month without even ripening at all! They don't taste very good and they are simply not juicy enough.
I know that Sharon will try to convince you that people eat tomatoes to impress their friends.
This is not true. I can impress my friends with all my other weird skills.*LOL*
Tuna on Tomato
Cut a large tomato into thick slices.
Top the tomato slices with tuna, dill, salt and pepper.
Top the tuna with some mozarella.
Put under the broiler until the cheese bubbles.
Cut up with a knife and fork. Eat!

First post... in my opinion, the slicing of a tomato is waaay to nice to it! it deserves a hammer!!! *light bulb appears above head* which could be my next pic! DEATH TO THE TOMATO!

ok, so Melanie, correct me if i'm wrong, but this blog has been set up so as you and I (and any other person who wishes to join our quest) can compete in an intense compitition to prove our never ending love or hate for tomato? Am I right? If so, i'm sooo winning this one!
